The village of Holmrook is home to a diner, pub and Post Office, while nearby Ravenglass, just 3 miles away, boasts a narrow gauge steam railway that runs up to the fells at Eskdale. Jump in the car and head 3 miles west for Drigg Beach, a paradise for birdwatchers with its wildlife rich dune system. Or head inland to take on one of the Lakeland peaks including the mighty Scafell Pike. Other nearby attractions include Muncaster Castle, 4 miles away and the Georgian harbour town of Whitehaven, 15 miles away.
