Caernarfon 5.5 miles. This homely and quaint detached cottage is situated in a semi-rural location, high in the hills above the village of Rhosgadfan, amongst a scattering of other similar properties, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The cottage enjoys fantastic open views across the fields and countryside, encompassing the coastline of Caernarfon Bay and the Isle of Anglesey. This delightful cottage is ideal for couples, friends and families who want to get away from it all, and spend time together exploring the delights this beautiful area of North Wales. The cottage welcomes you into a lovely sitting room which is characterful with exposed beams and enough comfy seating for everyone. A warming woodburner is a welcoming addition and makes this delightful cottage really cosy on chillier evenings, and the dining area is ideal for a family sit down meal. The traditional country farmhouse-style kitchen provides everything you may need to prepare a family feast or something a little less challenging in the culinary department. A downstairs bedroom is perfect if you have someone in the family who perhaps has difficulty with stairs and with patio doors opening onto a seating area outside, where you can sit, relax and enjoy those wonderful views. Off the sitting room is a small library area with bookcases containing a variety of interesting reading material, ideal if you just fancy a little me time with just a good book for company. Upstairs, the spacious landing area has been adapted into a great space for younger members of the family to play games, complete a puzzle or as a peaceful reading area. The two cosy bedrooms which do have slightly restricted headroom in places, have the added appeal of exposed beams. The double bedroom benefits from four skylight windows offering wonderful views towards the sea, making breakfast in bed a real treat. Outside is a grassed garden area with two patio areas, a slate constructed safe area for disposable barbecues with seating and fantastic views which add to the overall charm of this cottage and makes it a perfect area for alfresco dining, beautiful sunsets or to enjoy some stargazing when the sun has gone down. There are miles of walking and cycling tracks around this area, as well as horse riding at the nearby Snowdonia Riding Stables which offers pony trekking. For keen walkers and climbers, the mountains of Snowdonia are easily accessible. Caernarfon, with its array of shops and medieval castle, and the beaches along the Menai Straits are just a 15-minute drive away, or you can jump on a train to Porthmadog with its Blue Flag beaches and harbour and spend an afternoon browsing the shops there. The other castles of Conwy, Criccieth and Harlech are also all within easy driving distance, as too are the fantastic beaches and coastline of the Llyn Peninsula and Anglesey. This is a homely and tranquil cottage in a great location and provides a great base all year round.

With so much historic and cultural importance in North Wales, Caernarfon, the county town of Gwynedd, is a popular tourist spot. With an impressive 13th century castle and well preserved town walls, this is a wonderful location for history enthusiasts. During the summer season the castle runs guided tours and special events including historic pageants. Segontium, a Roman fort and museum, is home to various important finds and makes an interesting day out. Visitors can also enjoy a trip on the Welsh Highland Railway which passes through the area's dramatic scenery, or why not arrange a fishing trip from the local harbour? With a wide selection of shops and places to eat, Caernarfon also offers close proximity to the lovely beaches of the Isle of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula.
